- Alpha picoline (2-methylpyridine) is a member of a chemical category including pyridine and pyridine derivatives. The dermal sensitisation properties of pyridine were studied in the guinea pig, and pyridine was found to be a non-sensitiser. Reading-across from pyridine to this substance is valid for the purposes of classification and risk assessment.
