Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

One key study conducted according to GLP and OECD 202.

The acute toxicity of Glycyl to Daphnia magna was determined at approximately 20°C in a 48 -hour static (without renewal of the test media) definitive test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
20.4 mg/L

Additional information

Based on the nominal exposure concentrations of Glycyl the 24 hour EC50 value was outside the experimental range, therefore the EC50 is greater than >100 mg/L. The 48 hour EC50 value was determined as 20.4 mg/L, with 95 % confidence intervals of 16.4 to 24.8 mg/L. The corresponding no observed effect concentration was observed to be 6.3 mg/L. The lowest nominal Glycyl concentration causing 100 % immobility was 50 mg/L
