Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Under the conditions of the test, the test substance has no effects on rainbow trout at the water solubility limit (96h-LL50 > 100 mg/L).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a short-term toxicity study performed according to OECD 203 testing guideline, rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were exposed to an aqueous preparation of the test item with a loading rate of 100 mg/L. The dispersion was prepared daily by adding the test substance to diluent water; to aid dispersion, acetone and ultrasound treatment were employed, followed by prolonged stirring. The resultant solution was allowed to stand in the test area, then being passed through a sieve (20 µm) and used for the test control and solvent control were prepared. Exposure of fish was performed under semi-static conditions (the medium was renewed).

No deaths were observed during the test.

Based on the results of this study, the test substance is not considered harmful to rainbow trout at its water solubility limit.

This toxicity study is classified as acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirement for acute toxicity to fish.
