Conclusions:
The surface tension of an aqueous solution of 3-Methylpyrazol was determined. In the first measurement series, a mean value of 65.32 mN/m at 20.0 °C was found. In a verification experiment (90 minutes later), a significant change was observed. Therefore, further measurement series were performed until equilibrium was reached. In the equilibrium, a value of 63.26 mN/m was measured.

As both values were higher than 60 mN/m 3-Methylpyrazol is classified as

not surface active. The surface tension of the reference item lay within the accepted range.
Executive summary:

The influence on surface tension was measured using an aqueous solution of the test item containing 1 g/L. A value above 60 mN/m was measured at the start, but a verification measurement after 90 minutes showed a much lower value. Therefore further measurements were performed until the surface tension of the solution reached equilibrium (difference between the last two measurement series lies below 5%). At the equilibrium again a value above 60 mN/m was found. No explanation was found for the reversible decrease in surface tension, but the graph shows that equilibrium lies close to the value of the first measurement. The surface tension of the reference item was determined with a difference of 0.40% resp. 0.25% from the stated literature value. Therefore the test is considered valid.
