Conclusions:
The water solubility of SAFRANAL is 514.9 mg/L at 20 ± 1°C.
Executive summary:

The purpose of this study was to determine the water solubility of SAFRANAL, which is specified by the saturation mass concentration of the Test Item in water at 20 ± 1°C.

During the study, the flask method (OECD 105) was applied.

The water solubility of the Test Item is given as the mean of the measured saturation concentration of SAFRANAL dissolved in water following 2 days and 3 days of equilibration, if these concentration values do not differ by more than 15%.

The results in Table 1 show that the measured concentrations after 1, 2 and 3 days do not differ by more than 15%. Thus it can be concluded that equilibrium has been reached and that the test is satisfactory.

The mean of the Test Item concentrations in the water samples obtained after 1, 2 and 3 days equilibration was 514.9 μg/mL with relative standard deviation 7 %. (Table 1.); therefore, the results meet with the accuracy criteria of the OECD 105 guide.
