In contact with the flame of the gas burner the test item melted, and turned into a dark brown grey residue.

After removal of the ignition source, no propagation of combustion of the test item was observed.

The preliminary screening test was performed for the determination of the flammability of JNJ-119717-AAA (T001036).

Description of key information

The flammability potential of T001036 was determined in a Klimisch 1 GLP study according to the UN N.1 Method.

Based on the results obtained, T001036 is considered ‘not flammable’ or 'not readily combustible'.

Further, based on a theoretical assessment and experience in day-to-day handling and use, the substance can be considered to be not pyrophoric nor flammable in contact with water. Based on the fact that the substance is completely molten at 160°C, the substance is also considered not self-heating.

Additional information

A supporting study (PSC, 1985) investigated the burning behaviour of the substance and assigned burning class 1 (no ignition) to the substance, hereby supporting the results obtained in the key study (i.e., not flammable, not readily combustible). This supporting study could not be evaluated for reliability and was assigned Klimisch score 4.
