Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to other study
Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be soluble in water to form a stable mixture
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
From its structural formula, test item is not expected to react significantly with water at 20 °C and will in no way emit flammable gases. This is in line with the fact that during studies such as the determination of the water solubility of test item no reaction with water was observed.

Therefore, it can be concluded beyond reasonable doubt that contact of the substance with water or damp air will not lead to the development of dangerous amount of gas or gases which may be highly flammable.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information

Description of key information

Exp. Flash Point = 100.5°C: not a flammable liquid (CLP/GHS).

No release of flammable gases if contact with water. (waived)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

As the substance is a liquid, the relevant test for flammable properties is the Flash Point measurement.
A fully reliable experimental study is presented under IUCLID section 4.11.
Based on the chemical structure and experience, no flammable properties are anticipated if contact with water, therefore studies were deemed unnecessary.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP) criteria, the measured flash point is above the threshold value of 60°C, therefore the substance is NOT considered as a flammable liquid.

According to UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS) criteria, the measured flash point is above the threshold value of 93°C, therefore the substance is NOT considered as a flammable liquid.
