Description of key information

Short-term toxicity tests are available for all the three tropic levels (fish, invertebrates and aquatic plants). In an 96-hour acute fish toxicity test, FAT 36156/A was found to have 96 h LC50 to Zebra fish >1000 mg/L.48 h EC50 value of FAT 36156/D to Daphnia magna was determined to be 0.0073mg/L. The NOEC and LOEC value after 48 hours was determined to be 0.003 mg/L and 0.005 mg/L, respectively. In a GLP-compliant OECD 221 guideline study Lemna gibba (Duckweed) exposed to the test item FAT 36156 recorded: 7 day ErC50 based upon the frond number is > 0.73 mg/L. 7 day EyC50 based upon the frond numbers is > 0.73 mg/L. 7 day ErC50 based upon the frond dry weight is > 0.73 mg/L. 7 day EyC50 based upon the frond dry weight is >0.73 mg/L.The IC50 to microbial population was found to be greater than 300 mg/l. As a consequence, Disperse Blue 165:1 is found to be very toxic to aquatic species.
