Specific details on test material used for the study:
Test Item: FAT 36156/D TE
Lot. 20150804
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Safety Pre-Test

A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner. Glowing was observed. The test item showed signs of ignition.

Preliminary screening test

The test item was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. Glowing was observed during heating. An ignition occurred within two minutes.

Determination of Burning rate

The test item burned with a rate of 34 s/10cm.

Interpretation of results:
Category 2 (flammable solids) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
FAT 36156/D TE should be considered as highly flammable.
Executive summary:

This study was performed in order to determine the flammability FAT 36156/D according to EU method A.10.

Safety Pre-Test

A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner. Glowing was observed. The test item showed signs of ignition.

Preliminary screening test

The substance arranged in a 2 cm of the powder train, was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. Glowing was observed during heating. An ignition occurred within two minutes. Hence, the test item was classified as highly flammable and a determination of burning rate was necessary.

Determination of Burning rate

The test item burned with a rate of 34 s/10cm.

Description of key information

This study was performed in order to determine the flammability FAT 36156/D according to EU method A.10. For a safety pre-test, a small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner. Glowing was observed. The test item showed signs of ignition. For a preliminary screening test the substance arranged in a 2 cm of the powder train, washeated with the flame of a teclu burner. Glowing was observed during heating. An ignition occurred within two minutes. Hence, the test item was classified as highly flammable and a determination of burning rate was necessary. During the determination of Burning rate the test item burned with a rate of 34 s/10 cm. Therefore, FAT 36156/D should be considered as highly flammable.
