Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results and discussion

Melting / freezing point

11.7 °C
Atm. press.:
101.3 kPa

Any other information on results incl. tables

EDOT crystallizes under the experimentl conditions used in the temperature range approx. -40 °C to -38 °C. On the heating curve, two melting peaks with the peak temperature (Tp) at 6.4 °C and 13°C are detectable. The peak with higher heat of fusion at 13°C is supposed to belong to the melting of the main component.

The transition temperature (melting point) is, e.g. according to ISO 11357 -1, defined as the intercept of the extrapolated baseline and the tangent to the leading flank of the transition peak at the point of maximum gradient, which is the tempearture Ts according to ASTM E537.

Applicant's summary and conclusion
