Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The predicted boiling point of quinic acid is in the range of 360 - 438°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
398 °C

Additional information

The predicted boiling point of 396.75°C is based on the adapted Stein and Brown method, by Epi Suite v4.11. The estimation by calculation of the boiling point given by the ChemSpider database is 438.4°C. And the calculation of the Marrero and Gani model, using ChemProp, resulted in a boiling point of 360°C. The predicted boiling point of quinic acid is in the range of 360 - 438°C. For the boiling point a mean value (398°C) is assumed. Since the boiling point has not been measured, it is not possible to evaluate the estimation by calculation.
