Additional information

A GLP study was conducted (BASF SE, 14L00302) to determine the water solubility of the test item. In a preliminary test three different mixtures of the test item with water were prepared to estimate the water solubility. The concentrations of the test substance were 10.86 g/L, 50.565 g/L and 9.98 g test substance /100 g water. After shortly shaking by hand at room temperature (23 °C), the preparations were visually checked. It was not possible to prepare a saturated solution of the test item in water. Thus, the standard method (Shake flask) according to OECD 105 for high water solubility substances was not feasible as no saturated solution could be prepared. Thus, an internal method was applied to determine the complete miscibility of the substance. Therefore mixtures with ratio test item water 1:9, 2:8, 3:7, 4:6, 1:1, 6:4, 7:3, 8:2 and 9:1 were prepared. The mixtures were agitated by a roller mixer for at least two days at T = 23 °C. After equilibration overnight at 20.0 °C ± 0.5 °C they were visually checked. All mixtures appeared as clear, colourless homogenous solutions. Thus, it was concluded that the test item was miscible with water in any ratio.
