Description of key information

Hydrolysis is not a relevant pathway due the rapid biodegradability of 2-Butenedioic acid (2E)-, di-C12-14-alkyl esters (List No 938-575-3).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with Annex VIII, section 9.2.2.1, column 2 of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, testing for hydrolysis as a function of pH is not required as all members of the category are highly insoluble in water (water solubility < 0.15 mg/L). In addition, QSAR calculations (HYDROWIN v2.00) also indicate, that in comparison to biodegradation hydrolysis is of less importance for the environmental fate of the members of the category in the environment (DT50 [pH 7] > 274 d).
