Description of key information

There are three GLP studies on acute toxicity of zinc, 5,5'-azobis-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione complexes and melamine to fish following OECD 203. Each study reported of no effects at the limit test concentration (LC 50 > 100 mg/L, LL 50 > 6.19 mg/L (TWA )).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
6.19 mg/L

Additional information

Should read > 6.19 mg/L

Taking into account that the water solubility of zinc, 5,5'-azobis-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrione complexes and melamine is 0.52 mg/L and the high test concentrations it can be concluded that the substance does not cause toxic effects to fish.
