Although no study was performed to evaluate the carcinogenic potential of methyl-ionone, the histological data of the 90-day study (Dunster 2006, Politano 2012) as well as the negative results for genetic toxicity in vivo and in vitro (Gudi, 2000; Wagner, 1999; Wild 1983) do not provide any indication of carcinogenicity.
