Additional information

In a guideline study conducted in accordance with OECD 203 test fish of the species Danio rerio were exposed to methylionone for 96 hours in a static system. The test was terminated after 96 hours and a LC50 of ca. 2.3 mg/l based on measured data was detected (BASF AG, 1998). Due to the use of relatively high concentrations of acetone as an organic solvente, this test was regarded as invalid by ECHA (Decision number: CCH-D-2114359360-53-01/F).

Accordingly, a second guideline study was conducted in accordance with OECD 203 to investigate the auqatic toxicity of the registered substance on the test fish species Danio rerio. Fish were exposed to the water accommodated fraction (WAF) of the test substance for 96 hours in a semi-static system.

After 96 hours of exposure, a LC50 of > 1.57 mg/L was determined based on measured concentration (BASF SE, 2020).
