First-aid measures
Take persons to a safe place. Observe self-protection for first aid.
After inhalation:
Keep the patient calm. If unconscious place in stable sideways position. Protect against loss of body heat. Seek medical advice and clearly identify substance.
After contact with the skin:
Remove contaminated or soaked clothing. Immediately rinse with plenty of soap and water. In serious cases, use emergency shower immediately. In the event of a visible skin change or other complaints, seek medical advice (show label or SDS where possible).
After contact with the eyes:
Rinse immediately with plenty of water for 10-15 minutes. Keep eyelids well open to rinse the whole eye surface and eyelids with water. Seek medical advice in case of continuous irritation.
After swallowing:
If conscious, give several small portions of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice and clearly identify substance.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media:
water spray, extinguishing powder, foam, carbon dioxide.
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons:
water.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Hazardous combustion products: hydrogen chloride.
Advice for firefighters:
Special protective equipment for fire fighting:
Use respiratory protection independent of recirculated air.
Accidental release measures
Use tightly fitting chemical protection suit. Keep unprotected persons away. Avoid inhaling mists and vapours. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale gases/vapours/aerosols.
Environmental precautions
Prevent material from entering sewers or surface waters. Contain any fluid that runs out using suitable material (e.g. earth). Dispose of in prescribed marked containers.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Absorb with a liquid binding material such as diatomaceous earth and dispose of according to local/state/federal regulations. For small amounts: Cover with calcium oxide. Contain larger amounts and pump up into suitable containers.
Further information:
Eliminate all sources of ignition.
Handling and storage
General information:
Avoid exposure by technical measures or personal protective equipment.
Precautions for safe handling:
Open and handle container with care. Avoid breathing dust/vapor/mist/gas/aerosol. Must be syphoned off in situ.
Precautions against fire and explosion:
Take precautionary measures against electrostatic charging. Cool endangered containers with water. Flammable vapors may accumulate and formexplosive mixtures with air in containers, process vessels, including partial, empty and uncleaned containers and vessels, or other enclosed spaces. Keep away from open flames, heat and sparks.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Conditions for storage rooms and vessels:
Do not store in containers made of aluminum or other light metals.
Advice for storage of incompatible materials:
none known.
Further information for storage:
Keep in the original container in a cool well ventilated place. Keep container dry and tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection
General protection and hygiene measures:
Avoid exposure. All reusable protective equipment must be thoroughly cleaned after each use.
Personal protection equipment:
Respiratory protection:
Respiratory protection required. gas mask filter ABEK P2 . In case of long or strong exposure: positive pressure self contained breathing apparatus.
Hand protection:
Protective gloves generally only suitable as splash protection. Protective gloves made of butyl rubber (0,7 mm) . Due to the substance‘s properties, contaminated gloves must be immediately decontaminated and changed. The permeation time is reduced by mechanical and thermal stresses above 20°C.
Eye protection:
tight fitting protective goggles.
Skin protection:
full protective suit, rubber boots. Immediately decontaminate and change contaminated protective clothing.
Exposure to the environment limited and controlled:
Prevent material from entering surface waters and soil.
Further information for system design and engineering measures:
Use only in closed systems.
Stability and reactivity
If stored and handled in accordance with standard industrial practices no hazardous reactions are known.
Conditions to avoid:
Keep away from incompatible substances.
Incompatible materials:
Reacts with. basic substances. Reaction causes the formation of heat.
Hazardous decomposition products:
If stored and handled properly none known .
Disposal considerations
Material:
Recommendation:
Dispose of according to regulations by incineration in a special waste incinerator. Observe local/state/federal regulations.
Uncleaned packaging:
Recommendation:
Completely discharge containers (no tear drops, no powder rest, scraped carefully). Containers may be recycled or re-used. Observe local/state/federal regulations. Uncleaned packaging should be treated with the same precautions as the material.
