Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
4.1 After contact with skin
Remove clothing
Wash with plenty of soap and water.
Seek medical attention.
4.2 After contact with eye
Flush eyes thoroughly with water.
Seek medical attention.
4.3 After inhalation
Move affected person to fresh air.
Seek medical attention.
4.4 After ingestion
Drink a quart of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
5.1 Suitable extinguishing media:
Dry sand, graphite powder, dry sodium chloride based extinguishers, G-1 or Met-L-X powder
5.2 Unsuitable extinguishing media
Water, Foam, CO2
5.3 Exposure hazards
No special hazards.
5.4 Protective equipment for fire-fighters
Use self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
6.1 Personal precautions
Do not inhale dust. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
6.2 Environmental precautions
Dispose of material in accordance with all Federal, state and local air- and waterpollution
and solid waste regulations.
6.3 Methods for cleaning up/taking up
Vacuum or sweep all spilled material without creating dust.
Place in closed plastic bags for disposal and treat material as described in 6.2 and 13.
Handling and storage
7.1 Advice on safe handling
Avoid dust formation. Avoid contact with heat, sparks and flames.
Wear gloves, long sleeved shirt and safety glasses. Use with adequate ventilation and suitable
particle filter mask. Do not eat, drink or smoke at the workplace.
7.2 Requirements for storage rooms and vessels
Store in well ventilated dry area away from incompatible substances.
Do not store in open inadequate mislabled packaging.
Dusts or fumes may form explosive mixtures in air.
