Name of activity / technique:
Lead-containing alloys used in indoor and/or outdoor soldering applications (electrical soldering, plumbing, stained glass and decoratie articles) would have ranged in composition and were eutectic mixtures that melt at temperatures lower than their constituents. Soldered connections would have been made using a variety of usually hand held means, such as soldering iron, gas (e.g. propane) torch or hot air gun. The components to be joined would be heated to a point where the solder would have liquefied, wetted the items to be bonded and then quickly solidified.

Name of activity / technique:
