Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Name of test material (as cited in study report): Composite Sample 7, Anthracene Oils < 50 ppm; ATE 10443
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
solid
Remarks:
depending on composition of other samples/batches, anthracene oil (AOL) may be pasty or liquid at ambient temperature

Form:
solid: crystalline
Colour:
Brown
Odour:
other: aromatic
Substance type:
organic
Conclusions:
The CCSG composite sample 07 of anthracene oil (anthracene oil ≤ 50 ppm BaP, AOL) was demonstrated to be a solid substance at ambient temperature with a brown colour and an aromatic smell. But it is also known, that other samples/batches of anthracene oil (AOL) may have a more pasty or semifluid consistency due to slight differences in composition.

Description of key information

Anthracene oil <50 ppm BaP [CAS no. 90640-80-5] is a pasty tar oil fraction at ambient temperature with a melting point of 92 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
