Description of key information

Toxicity testing in the soil environment is waived based on the fact that exposure to the soil environment is unlikely and based on the screening level risk assessment using a PNECsoil derived from the equilibrium partitioning method, which indicated no need for further information and testing.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Unoxol 3,4 Dialdehydehas a very low potential for adsorption to organic matter as indicated by a log Koc of 1.02 – 1.22. Therefore, exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. Additionally, the predicted no effect concentration (PNEC) for soil was derived from the PNEC for freshwater using the equilibrium partitioning method, and using this PNEC soil, the risk characterization shows that the PEC/PNEC soil ratio for the terrestrial environment is <1, indicating no need for further information and testing.
