Description of key information

The viscosity of methylcyclohexane is 0.679 mPa s.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

0.679 mPa · s (dynamic)
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

According to Lide handbook (2005), the viscosity of methylcyclohexane is 0.679 mPa s.

The viscosity methylcyclohexane is below the classification limit of 20,5 mm²/s ((EC) 1272/2008) and 7 x 10-6 m2/sec (67/548/EEC), respectively. Thus, the substance meets the criteria for a classification as Aspitation hazard Category 1 (H304: May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways) according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and as Harmful (Xn; R65 Harmful; may cause lung damage if swallowed) according to Directive 67/548/EEC.

CLP: Asp. Tox. 1
