Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The Henry's law constant (HLC) of p-cresol at 25 °C is reported to be 0.1 Pa m³/mol.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Henry's law constant (H) (in Pa m³/mol):
0.1
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The distribution of p-cresol between aqueous solution and air is described by the Henry’s law constant.

For p-cresol two results for the Henry's Law Constant are reported.

A thermodynamic method was used to determine the Henry's law constant of p-cresol. At 25°C a value of 0.35 Pa*m³/mol was obtained. Another value of 0.1 Pa*m³/mol at 20°C was reported. The lowest value ist taken into account for assessment.

Both values indicate a low volatility for p-cresol from aqueous solution.
