Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Experimental data on the biodegradation in sediment of Amines polyethylenepoly (PEPA) are not available. Based on the screening tests on biodegradability (5.2.1) it is expected that PEPA is not biodegraded. Co-metabolic degradation may however occur in water and sediment. In accordance with Annex IX, column 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, simulation testing in water and sediment does not need to be conducted as the Chemical Safety Assessment does not indicate a need for further investigations. According to Annex XI, Section 3 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 simulation tests in water and sediment are deemed not necessary. The environmental exposure assessment for PEPA (CAS 68131-73-7) indicates no risk for the aquatic and sediment compartment (all RCR< 1; please refer to Chapter 9 and 10 of the Chemical Safety Report for detailed information).
