The registration substance will hydrolyse rapidly in contact with water. The interim hydrolysis products are progressively shorter alpha-omega siloxanediols and the ultimate hydrolysis product is methylsilanetriol.

Biodegradation in water studies with structural analogues and soil biodegradation studies with dimethylsilanediol demonstrate that no significant biodegradation of the hydrolysis products will take place.
