Executive summary:

The flash point of n-heptanoic acid was determinated according to according to Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 , part A.9 following the closed cup method ( ISO 3679).

The observation between 112 and 122°C, obtained at each equilibrium measurements, are reported at 988 mbars. The flash point is the lowest temperature at which the sample produces vapour in a closed container (closed cup) in such amounts that a flammable vapour/air mixture is formed.

The flash of n-heptanoic acid corrected at the pressure of 101.3 kPa, was 117°C ± 0.5°C.
