Conclusions:
A melting point of < -100°C (173 K) was determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol. It was not conducted according to GLP.
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:

Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Version / remarks:
1.4.4.2 / 1.6.4.2
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
thermal analysis
Remarks:
Differential Scanning Calorimetry
Melting / freezing pt.:
-53.5
Remarks on result:
other: if cooling to a temperature below -100°C (173K)

Results:

The DSC diagrams show an exothermic process beginning at about -95°C (approximately 178K). This can be interpreted as a kind of crystallization process, so that a solid phase results.

The solid phase melts with an endothermic reaction and an onset temperature at -53.5°C (219.7K).

Conclusions:
A melting point of -53.5°C was determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol. It was not conducted according to GLP.

Description of key information

<-100°C at 1013 hPa (measured)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-100 °C

Additional information

A melting point value of <-100°C was determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to OECD test guideline 102. This is supported by measured values of -53.5°C obtained from another study and <-50°C obtained from a secondary source (company data). The supporting results are in good agreement with the key study.
