Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results

Preliminary Test

Lowest test temperature = 279.0 °C

Test Series 1

Lowest test temperature = 252.0 °C

Test Series 2

Lowest test temperature = 252.0 °C

Test Series 3

Lowest test temperature = 252.0 °C

Summary

Lowest value of test series 2

252

Lowest value of test series 3

252

Lowest value of all test series

252

3.8

Auto-ignition temperature = 248 °C

Remarks

According to DIN EN 14522 the lowest value of all test series (252 °C) was reduced by the deviation value based on the precision of the method (rel. 1.5% = 3.8 °C). The resulting value was rounded to the next integral number (248 °C).

Conclusions:
An auto-ignition temperature of 248 °C was determined in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol. It was not compliant with GLP.

Description of key information

Triethoxy(phenyl)silane: 248 °C (measured)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
248 °C

Additional information

An auto-flammability temperature of 248 °C was determined according to EU Method A.15. This is supported by a measured value of 265°C at 1013 hPa from a secondary source (company data). The supporting result is in good agreement with the key study.
