Additional information

Sodium sulfate dissociates in water and does not adsorb onto soil. Terrestrial organisms are therefore exposed mainly via porewater. The equilibrium partitioning method which uses the aquatic PNEC, can be used for estimation of the PNEC for terrestrial organisms because exposure takes place via porewater. A new study is therefore not necessary.
