This endpoint is covered by the category approach for soluble iron salts (please see the section for physical and chemical properties for the category justification/report format). Testing for this endpoint has been waived as an experiment is considered scientifically unjustified. The value for the assessment has been set to a low value, which reflects the properties of the metal species.
Vapour pressure is not a REACH requirement for the submission item category. In accordance with REACH Annex VII, the vapour pressure study (required in Section 7.5) does not need to be conducted, because the melting point is above 300 °C or the preparation of the waterless test item is not possible. Vapour pressure values available in the literature for the category salts, details of which are presented in section 4.6 of the IUCLID 5 file and/or in the SIAR dossiers (OECD 2004 & 2007), refer to the vapour pressure of water above the solution or hydrated crystalline forms (at elevated temperatures), or possibly degradation products. Such values are not insightful for the normal use of vapour pressure values in hazard and risk assessment. The true vapour pressure is negligibly low.
