Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Not relevant for an aqueous suspension in liquid form and not required for formulation excluding dust formation

Additional information

The category member substances are most commonly supplied in aqueous solution forms. In respect of these forms, the waiver below applies for the particle size distribution/granulometry endpoint.

Salts marketed in watery solution

Testing for this endpoint has been waived in accordance with column 2 restrictions for watery solutions of the submission item. Particle size distribution is not a relevant property as the water solute submission item is marketed and used in a non-solid or granular form. Airborne submission item could exist only as small droplet aerosol, whose formation is unlikely in the foreseen uses and would be the result from treatment rather than a being a property.

Salts marketed as commercial solid formulated products, which exclude dust formation

Testing for this endpoint has been waived on the basis of exposure considerations if the submission item is marketed in a commercial formulation, which excludes dust formation.

Salts marketed in other solid forms

For any registrants, who supply iron salts in solid forms, particle size distribution data will be provided by an individual Endpoint Study Record (ESR) in the respective IUCLID 5 section an in the parallel registrant-specific partial CSR document.
