First-aid measures

Inhalation:

Move victims into fresh air. Place person on side in stable position if unconscious.

In case of difficulties in breathing, supply oxygen.Employ artificial respiration if breathing ceases.Call a physician immediately.

Skin Contact:

In the event of frostbite, rinse copiously with water. Do not remove clothing

that adheres due to freezing. Cover with sterile dressing and seek medical

advice.

Eye contact:

Immediately rinse the affected eye carefully with water of regular

temperature. Do not force eyelids open. Consult an eye doctor

(ophthalmologist).

Ingestion: Ingestion by swallowing is not considered a possible mode of exposure.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Hazards: Oxygen-displacing gas.

Treatment: cardio-vascular monitoring. Symptomatic treatment. No specific antidoteknown.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media:

Water spray, foam, CO2, dry powder.

Unsuitable extinguishing media:

high volume water jet

Special hazards arising

from the substance or

mixture:

In case of fire cool endangered containers with water. Closed container

may rupture if strongly heated. Heavier than air vapour. Formation of

flammable or explosive vapour/air mixtures possible. Keep all ignition

sources out of area

Advice for firefighters

Special fire fighting

procedures: No data available.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:

In the case of respirable dust and/or fumes, use self-contained breathing

apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions,

protective equipment and

emergency procedures:

Wear personal protective equipment; see section 8. Avoid contact with skin

and eyes. Do not inhale vapours / aerosols. Keep away from sources of

ignition - No smoking. Heavier than air vapour. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Ensure that spaces including floor areas are well ventilated.

For emergency responders:

No data available.

Environmental Precautions: Do not allow entrance in sewage water, drainage systems, stretches of

water, soil. Avoid penetration into drainage system or in rooms situated at a

lower level because of danger of explosion. Issue an immediate alarm

report to the company environmental protection department if the product

unintentionally leaves the production area.

Methods and material forcontainment and cleaning up:

under the provision of special precautionary measures Confine and allow to

evaporate.

Reference to other sections:

Wear personal protective equipment

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe

handling:

Wear personal protective equipment; see section 8. Avoid contact with skin

and eyes. Do not inhale vapours / aerosols. Provide good ventilation or

extraction. Ensure that spaces including floor areas are well ventilated.

Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors. Keep away from

sources of ignition - No smoking. Do not empty into drains. If positive

displacement pumps are used, these must be fitted with non-integral

pressure relief valve. Observe special instructions applicable to

compressed gases. If necessary, full body protection suit (coverall).

Conditions for safe storage,

including any

incompatibilities:

Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition

sources. No smoking. Take measures to prevent the build up of

electrostatic charge. Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated

place. Keep away from direct sunlight. Do not store together with: highly

inflammable substances Suitable materials are: Steel Take precautionary

measures against static charges, keep away from sources of ignition.

Explosion protection equipment required. Observe prohibition against

storing together!

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate Engineering Controls:

Use closed-system units. If contact with gases or vapours cannot be

excluded: Provide good ventilation or extraction. Further Information ACGIH

(American Conference of Governmental Industry Hygienists)

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment

Eye/face protection:

close-fitting protective goggles (e.g. closed goggles) or face protection

Hand Protection:

Material: nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) gloves Material: leather gloves, heat insulating

Additional Information: Selection of protective gloves to meet the requirements of specific workplaces., Suitability for specific workplaces

should be clarified with protective glove manufacturers., The information is

based on our own tests, references from the literature and information from

glove manufacturers, or derived by analogy with similar materials.,

Remember that the useful time per day of a chemical protection glove may

be much shorter than the permeation time determined according to EN 374

due to the many different influential factors involved (e.g. temperature).

Skin and Body Protection:

Select materials and equipment for physical protection depending on the

concentration and volume of hazardous substances and the workplace

involved.

Respiratory Protection:

In case of dusts/vapours/aerosols being formed or if the limit values like

TLV are exceeded: If concentrations in the breathed air are low: Respirator

with brown AX-type filter Put on Respiratory protective equipment

independent of surrounding air with high gas/vapour concentrations.

Hygiene measures:

Do not inhale vapours / aerosols. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Remove contaminated or saturated clothing. Smoking, eating and drinking

should be prohibited in the application area. Observe the rules usually

applicable when handling chemicals.

Environmental Controls: The environmental regulations on the control and monitoring

of environmental exposures are to be observed.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No data available.

Chemical Stability: No data available.

Possibility of hazardous reactions:

Vapours may form explosive mixture with air.

Conditions to avoid: Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Incompatible Materials: Strong oxidizing agents Chlorine. Hydrogen chloride. Fluorine. Oxygen

Hazardous Decomposition Products: Not known.

Disposal considerations

General information: No waste key number as per the European Waste Types List can be

assigned to this product, since such classification is based on the (as yet

undetermined) use to which the product is put by the consumer. The waste

key number must be determined as per the European Waste Types List

(decision on EU Waste Types List 2000/532/EC) in cooperation with the

disposal firm / producing firm / official authority.

Disposal methods: With respect to local regulations, e.g. incineration via flare system.

Contaminated Packaging: No data available.
