Description of key information

No adverse effects on the growth rate of Desmodesmus subspicatus was observed testing Sulfonic acids, C10 -21 alkane, Ph esters at its maximal water solubility (2 mg/L) (Bayer AG, 2003c).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
2 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
2 mg/L

Additional information

Should read >2 mg/L

All results are expressed in terms of nominal concentrations. Due to its inherent properties the test item connot be analysed in the concentration range given. Therefore, no analysis was established. But as the test item is stable against hydrolysis and scored as not volatile, a constant test item concentration throughout the study can be assumed justifying the use of nominal concentrations.
