Additional information

Freshwater:

High quality NOEC/L(E)C10values for chronic toxicity to freshwater fish are based on the fish species,Pimephales promelas,Oncorhynchus mykiss, andBrachydanio rerio. The NOEC/L(E)C10values for fish range from 40 μg/l forBrachydanio rerio(Dave & Xiu, 1991) to 15420 μg/l for theBrachydanio rerio(Kienle et al., 2009).

The following table indicates those NOEC or EC10 values that have been carried forward for the HC5-& PNEC derivation

Marine:

Chronic toxicity values are reported for marine fish species. EC10values range from 3599 μg Ni/L for growth of the topsmelt,Atherinops affinis(Huntet al., 2002), to 20760 μg Ni/L for growth of the sheepshead minnow,Cyprinodon variegates(GolderAssociates, 2007).
