Memo: Selective inhibitors of germination of legume seeds in activated sludge compost
RS-Freetext:
Water extracts of the compost produced from activated slugde
and coffee residue were found to be selectively inhibitory
to seed germination of some legumes.
Mono-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (MEHP) isolated from the
extract was identified as inhibitor by 13C-NMR spectroscopy
and mass spectrometry. MEHP seems to be generated by
degradation from DEHP.
