Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex X, the long-term toxicity testing to sediment organisms shall be proposed depending on the results of the chemical safety assessment. Calcium diformate is readily biodegradable, is not expected to adsorb to solid soil phase (log Koc < 3) and does not accumulate significantly in organisms (log Kow < 3). Results from the pelagic studies indicate that calcium diformate is acutely not harmful. The equilibrium partitioning method can be used to assess the hazard for sediment organisms.
