160°C to >750°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The boiling point range for heavy fuel oil components is 160°C to >750°C. A boiling point range of 150°C to >700 °C was reported in a collection of reliable data (API, 1987; TPHCWG series ,1998; EPA , 2004) which have been subject to peer-review and in which the original data sources are traceable. The result (API, 1987) is considered to be reliable and has been selected as key study. Additional supporting data indicates that the boiling point range is between 150°C to >750°C (CONCAWE, 2010a).
