Description of key information

Data waiving:

Reason:other justification

Justification: According to Column 2 of REACH Annex X, a carcinogenicity study may be required if the substance has a widespread dispersive use, or there is evidence of frequent or long-term human exposure and the substance is classified as mutagen category 3, or there is evidence from the repeated dose study(ies) that the substance is able to induce hyperplasia and/or pre-neoplastic lesions. Based on the available data, tungsten oxide would not classify as a mutagen. No hyperplasia and/or pre-neoplastic lesions were identified in a 28-day repeat dose inhalation toxicity study on tungsten oxide. Therefore, a carcinogenicity study is not required under REACH.

Justification for classification or non-classification
