Reason: The results of the chemical safety assessment do not indicate the need to further investigate the effects of the substance and/or relevant degradation products on sediment organisms.
Justification:In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex X, long-term toxicity testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the results of the chemical safety assessment indicates the need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or relevant degradation products on sediment organisms. Due to the relatively high PNEC derived for sediment organisms, based on conservative assumptions and derived from the PNECaquatic using the Equilibrium Partitioning Method (EPM), along with the conclusion of no aquatic toxicity classification warranted for tungsten oxide, further sediment long-term toxicity investigation is not needed.

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex X, long-term toxicity testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the results of the chemical safety assessment indicates the need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or relevant degradation products on sediment organisms.
