Description of key information

Egyed & Shlosberg (1975) note reports of animal poisoning with sodium hexafluorosilicate used as an insecticide. They investigated the acute toxicity of this substance in sheep and found it to be of high toxicity; lethal doses of 1.5 and 2.0 g/kg were reported. The authors considered the symptoms to be consistent with a corrosive poisoning. Biochemical findings were consistent with the mode of action of fluoride.
