Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

With the exception of Pseudomonas putida (16 h TT (EC3)>50 mg/L) cumene hydroperoxide shows a high toxicity to microorganisms in cell multiplication inhibition tests (Entosiphon sulcatum Stein: 72 h-TT (EC5)=8.5 mg/L; Chilomonas paramaecium: 48 h TT (EC5)=0.91 mg/L and Uronema parduczi: 20 h TT (EC5)=0.35 mg/L nominal each).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
50 mg/L

Additional information

Pseudomonas putida was exposed for 16 h to cumene hydroperoxide under static conditions. In the cell multiplication inhibition test, a TT (EC3)>50 mg/L nominal was obtained. In a cell multiplication inhibition test using Entosiphon sulcatum Stein, Chilomonas paramaecium, and Uronema parduczi as test organisms, a 72 h-TT (EC5)=8.5 mg/L (Entosiphon s.), a 48 h TT (EC5)=0.91 mg/L (Chilomonas p.), and a 20 h TT (EC5)=0.35 mg/L (Uronema p.; nominal Each) were determined.
