Description of key information

The acute toxicity of cumene hydroperoxide to Daphnia magna was investigated in a study conducted according to OECD Guideline 202 (Daphnia sp. Acute Immobilisation Test) and EU Method C.2 under GLP conditions. The 48 h NOEC, LOEC, and EC50 were determined to be 9.15, 18.23, and 18.84 mg/L based on geometric mean measured concentrations.

Additional information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Reliable results from studies conducted according to guideline and or conducted according or similar to a national standard method are available.

The acute toxicity of cumene hydroperoxide to Daphnia magna was investigated in a study conducted according to OECD Guideline 202 (Daphnia sp. Acute Immobilisation Test) and EU Method C.2 under GLP conditions. The stability of the test substance was investigated via HPLC/UV-VIS. The 48 h NOEC, LOEC, and EC50 were determined to be 9.15, 18.23, and 18.84 mg/L based on geometric mean measured concentrations.

In two studies conducted according or similar to the German DIN 38412, Part 11 (draft), 24 h EC50 values in the range between 6 and 7 mg/L nominal were determined.
