relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2009-07-28 to 2009-08-06
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
according to guideline
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Relative self-ignition temperature:
> 420 °C

No exothermic effects were determined up to 420 °C. A copy of the recorder trace is attached (see Graph of the Relative Spontaneous Ignition).

Based on the study results Diniobium Pentaoxide is classified as not undergoing spontaneous combustion when tested according to EC Test Procedure A 16.

Description of key information

self-ignition temperature > 420 °C, no auto flammability

(EU method A.16)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No exothermic effects were determined up to 420 °C.
