Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

NOEC (28 d) ≥ 105 µg/l based on growth rate (comparable to OECD 215)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a 28 days chronic toxicity study, comparable to OECD 215, juveniles of Oncorhynchus mykiss (Crossland, N.O., 1986 and ISO/DIS 10229-1),Brachydanio rerio(zebra fish) were exposed to Erucamide at nominal concentrations of 0 (control, solvent control), 33 and 100 µg/L under flow through conditions for 28 d. Hardness, temperature, pH and dissolved oxygen were determined daily except for weekends in all test concentrations. The mean hardness was 100 mg/L CaCO3, the mean temperature was 23.1 °C, the mean pH was 7.5, the mean dissolved oxygen was 8.5 mg/L. Chemical analysis indicated that the concentrations of the test solutions were on average 96% and 105% of nominal (56 -160%). Effect concentrations were based on mean measured concentrations. There were no inhibitory effects of Erucamide on the exposed fish at the highest mean measured concentration tested (105 µg/l). Thus, a NOEC (28 d) of >= 105 µg/l resulted.
