Description of key information

LC50 (14 d): > 1000 mg/kg dry weight artificial soil (limit test; OECD 207; Eisenia fetida)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil macroorganisms:
1 000 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

The acute toxicity of peracetic acid to earthworms, Eisenia fetida, was determined in a 14-day soil exposure laboratory study conducted according to GLP and OECD 207 (Winkelmann, 2008). The concentration of test item was measured on day 0 in the stock solution via LC-MS/MS. An actual concentration of 106 % of nominal was determined, verifying the nominal application rate. The results of this limit test showed neither lethal nor sublethal effects. The LC50 was calculated to be > 1000 mg peracetic acid/kg dry weight artificial soil (corresponding to 6427 mg Peracetic acid 15%/kg soil DW).
