Description of key information

Self-ignition is not considered to be of relevance for this substance, since this would require heat to be developed either by reaction of this substance with oxygen or by exothermic decomposition and which is not lost rapidly enough to the surroundings. This is not the case for As2O3. According to chemistry text books (Holleman-Wiberg, 101th Ed.) the oxidation of As stops at As2O3 and As2O5 cannot be obained by further oxidation in air. Also, As2O3 is generally seen as non flammable and non combustible, rendering any self-ignition implausible. In conclusion, the conduct of further experimental verification is not considered to be required.
