Due to the low water solubility of C. I. Pigment Yellow 34 adverse chronic effects of the substance to aquatic organisms are not expected. However, a minor part of the substance may dissolve and chromate (CrO42-) and lead ions (Pb²+) may dissociate from the parent substance. Both substances may have chronic effects on aquatic invertebrates.
