Description of key information

Sulphamidic acid is not pyrophoric based on its structure, and it does not release flammable gas in contact with water based on experience from practical handling. When heated over 205 ℃, it decomposes to release N2, SO2, SO3 and water, all of which are not flammable. Thus, this endpoint can be waived for sulphamidic acid.

non flammable

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on its structure and based on experience in handling and use, sulphamidic acid is non-flammable (neither in air, nor in contact with water nor when ignited) and therefore does not require classification for flammability according to CLP (Regulation EC No 1272/2008) nor DSD (Directive 67 /548/EEC).
