Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In the PSD study levels of respirable dust for tablet and granular products of troclosene sodium samples analysed were less than 0.06%, with most samples being less than 0.02% for the 10.78µm range and less than 0.2% (typical values of less than 0.05%) for the 52.63µm. As part of the storage stability study the initial measurement of particle size was determined to be 0.25% particles < 250 µm and 0.18 particles < 150 µm.The substance is essentially non inhalable.

Additional information

The particle size distribution of troclosene sodium products were determined to define the levels of respirable dust present.

(Schwartz & Johnson 1995) The data was developed through a combination of gravimetric analysis and laser diffraction particle size analysis.

As part of a 36 month storage stability study the particle size of troclosene sodium was determined initially, and after storage at 25°C for period of 24 and 36 months (O'Connor & Mullee 2003).
