Results and discussion

Results:
Industrial workers which were indefinitely exposed to 10 -550 ppm (92 -3366 mg/m³) p-DCB did not announce any disturbances at 15 -85 ppm (average: 45 ppm; 92 -520 mg/m³, average 275 mg/m³). At 50 -170 ppm (average 105 ppm; 306 -1040 mg/m³; average 643 mg/m³) the workers specified irritations of eyes and nose. These effects were more severe at 160 ppm (979 mg/m³) p-DCB. At 15 -30 ppm a slight smell was noticed, which was strong at 30 -60 ppm. At higher concentrations the smell was not tolerable.
The NOAEC therefore is <50 ppm.
